We are delighted to present the German Day Cleveland Story...
German-American Day (German: Deutsch-Amerikanischer Tag) is a holiday in the United States, observed annually on October 6. The holiday, which celebrates German American heritage, commemorates the date in 1683 when 13 German families from Krefeld, near the Rhine, landed in Philadelphia.
This year, German Day Cleveland will be celebrated on October 6 from 1:00 to 6:00 at the German Central at 7863 York Rd in Parma, OH. Stay tuned for regular updates regarding schedule of performers and other details!
German Day Cleveland is the local celebration of German heritage. Our goal is to celebrate our shared heritage with local German-American cultural organizations and clubs that preserve our heritage, celebrate our culture, and share our music, song, and dance.
At the German Day Cleveland event, German cultural groups of the greater Cleveland area will be performing throughout the day. We will have the oompah bands, singing groups, and traditional dancers.
Don't forget to wear your Lederhosen and Dirndl - just not at the same time.
